Once again I am having technical difficulties with my computer and browsing for pictures, so I am going to post some things I have been thinking about that don't require photos.
Last October at Time Out For Women mother and daughter authors Linda Eyre and Shawni Eyre Pothier talked about Secrets of Motherhood. One of the things they talked about was being your own best kind of mom-not comparing yourself to any other mom, or going crazy trying to do it all. So here's the kind of mom I am not: I am not a craft mom, or a scrapbook mom, or a library mom, or a no watching TV mom, or a do-my-girls'-hair-pretty-everyday-mom, or an organized mom, or a great housekeeper mom.
Here's the kind of mom I think I am: a cook-healthy-meals-even-if-I'm-the-only-one-who-likes-it-mom (they'll thank me later), a music mom (the kids have seen me be the choir director and primary chorister and often tell me to stop singing), a cheerleader mom (I am so proud of my kids whenever they play baseball, dance in a show, learn to write a K, etc.), a gospel-loving mom (I try to teach them the gospel and bear my testimony every chance I get), and an I-think-I got-the-best-kids-in-the-whole-world mom (I have said that to other people and I often say to the kids "Who's the luckiest mommy? I am because I have you!)
So to all the moms out there, you are awesome, whatever kind of mom you are!

Love you new profile pictures
Hi Carmen! I was reading another friend's blog and found yours! woohoo! I love this post you wrote about being the best "you" as a mom. Boy, sure is a good lesson in that. I think it's great to celebrate the ways we each care about and love our kids.
