First the raves:I love the Primary songs, so I am happy that I am the Primary chorister. Not a week goes by that I don't feel the Spirit as we sing songs like "I Know that My Savior Loves Me" and "He Sent His Son." Boyd K. Packer said "We are able to feel and learn very quickly through music. . . some spiritual things that we would otherwise learn very slowly." I can see that the Primary children are learning very quickly the truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that are taught in the beautiful songs we sing.
Second rave: Retail therapy is not made up. Yesterday I went shopping at Kohl's and bought the kids some new spring clothes. It's been rainy and cloudy this week, but I found that as I picked out clothes that are bright spring colors, my mood brightened as well.
Now the rants(feel free to skip this if you don't want to hear me go off): I had a doctor appointment last week at a general practitioner's office. I went to him because he is close and on our insurance and I wanted to get my thyroid checked. When I signed in I expected to get a clipboard with forms for new patients, but somebody walked in behind me and the receptionist started helping him. I stood at the desk until she asked if I needed help. I told her that I was a new patient and didn't I need to fill out some forms. She said yes and gave me a clipboard. Then the lady that had signed in 25 minutes before me said that she also was a new patient and needed the forms. They should have known we were coming in and been ready with the forms right away. So then I waited almost an hour and they said you're next that will be $20 for a co-payment. I took out my debit card and they said, "Oh, our machine is down. We're only taking cash." A simple sign put up saying that would have allowed me to go out while I was waiting instead of right before I was to meet with the doctor. By then it was after 6p.m. and I was super annoyed. So then the doctor came in and asked me why I wanted my thyroid checked and I told him that I lost 20 lbs. after my baby was born and then gained it back and she's only five months old and my ob/gyn said it might be a thyroid issue. So then he gave me a lesson about calorie deficits and didn't mention anything about thyroid. My biggest problem with that was I felt like I wasn't being heard. I said weight and he jumped on that ( I should have known since he had "Medical Weight Loss" posters all over his office.) I think that's my biggest pet peeve ever: when I think I'm not being heard. I saw in the paper that a lady is giving a seminar on how a complaint is a gift. Well I have a few gifts for the doctor next time I see him.

Oh man, that is not cool. First the waiting room and then the doctor . . . It's not like you don't know about counting calories, hello. Will you find a new doctor?
I'm glad your the Primary chorister--I'll bet you are really good at that! There is a really great yahoo group called Primusic (I think) that when I did my 6-month substite gig I used a lot. So very helpful for teaching songs, game ideas, etc.
And did you get my email? I was hoping to see you tonight at book club if you could make it. :)
Some people's kids!!! I would be fuming mad too.
Retail therapy, huh? Never heard of it being referred to by that name, but I like it!
